On Giving Life

Marc and Savana at the Micro-Documentaries blood drive.

When my younger brother was born in Caracas, 34 years ago, four perfect strangers got out of bed in the middle of the night to give their blood to save my mother’s life. In gratitude, my mother has given blood whenever possible and has encouraged others as well.  After producing a series of micro-documentaries on behalf of the Stanford Blood Center to inspire people to give blood, our team was naturally inspired to do the same. At our recent company gathering we held a blood drive and were able to experience the satisfaction of giving this gift of life.

In the next few blog posts you’ll read about our producer, Noah Stout’s, moving experience filming these microdocs.  Also see how artist Naomi Natale is using her talent to work against genocide, in One Million Bones. Finally, be sure to check out our new Travelpooling Program, where you can save money while reducing your travel emissions related to production. If you require filming in Kenya, Zambia, Sounth Africa, India or Europe in the next couple of months, we can include you on trips that are already taking us to these locations.

You, our dear Micro-Documentaries circle of friends, have given this little company with big aspirations the gift of life, and for that we are incredibly grateful. May your new year be filled with giving and with life.
