We’ve been pleased to see a growing number of organizations publish annual reports online. As I’ve noted in the past, taking an annual report online is a great way to extend a report’s shelf life and visibility, and short film is a powerful way to bring stories to life within this more dynamic format.
Low Income Investment Fund recently published its 2013 Annual Report featuring three microdocs to help tell its story. Similarly, Sutter Health’s 2013 report has microdocs sprinkled throughout, such as this story about a medical center in the underserved community of Bayview-Hunters Point in San Francisco.
We featured the team at Sutter Health in a larger story on integrating short films into online annual reports last year. I encourage you to read the full story here. The cliffs note version: If you’re considering integrating short films into your online report for the first time, remember to start small, be authentic, and share the film in an array of social and professional forums, using it as a gateway into the report.
