Can you capture a magical or surprising moment with some of your audience, then share it with the rest?
Pandora, the personalized radio service, recently gave eight lucky customers a gift. After giving a song by artist Lindsey Stirling a thumbs up on Pandora, they were whisked into a live, one-on-one virtual concert with Stirling herself via FaceTime. If you watch the video, you can see how emotional this was for artist and fans alike, bridging the real-world-virtual-world divide for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Pandora then shared its video of the private Stirling concert with its larger audience on its blog and through email, allowing everyone to feel the power of the connection and entertain the appealing thought that when you give an artist a thumbs up on Pandora, they’re smiling just beyond the pixels on your screen. It was extra special for the listeners and entertaining for the audience. A great combination.
Pandora says it’s planning to do lots of these “Thumb Moments” in the future. And why not? It’s brilliant branding without promotion.
Can you do the same?
